Getting Started

It all started with a launch, recital and reception in Kilrudery on September 8th 2001. There were five boys and four adults. Róisín and Aisling Dexter assisted with a fiddle, a bodhrán and one soprano descant. Evelyn Cockburn took time out from Lyric FM’s The Full Score to wish us on our way, and the new ship plunged into the ocean.

Individual Solos


Soloists on the CD Christmas with John Dexter Harmony were: 

Michael Broderick, Neil Dexter, Sebastian O'Shea-Farren and Ken Waide.

Individual Solos provided by JDH have included:

Jeffrey Flynn performing in the Gate Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol.

Neil and Patrick Dexter singing Allegri’s Miserere in Whitechurch on Ash Wednesday.

Ken Waide singing The Snowman in the NCH for two nights in December 2001, as well as a part in Janácek’s The Cunning Little Vixen for Opera Theatre Company. Ken was then chosen to sing the principal music at Kate Magnier’s wedding in Fethard Co Tipperary on August 24th 2002. JD was Musical Advisor and Organist. He also sang Vivaldi’s Nulla in Mundo in the NCH in March 2003 and has made a personal CD.

Neil Dexter sang Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Ken Waide sang Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb in the NCH on April 12th 2003.

Neil and Ken sang Allegri’s Miserere and Neil sang Fauré’s Requiem for President McAleesse in Milltown on April 13th

Andrew Wall and Sebastian O'Shea Farren recorded specially composed tracks for CoisCéim Dance Theatre's production of Mermaids in June 2003

Ken Waide was invited to sing on Vincent Brown's Radio Show in December 2003. Philip Carty talked about the choir and about his new piece Pagannini's Carol, composed for JDH for their Christmas concert in the National Concert Hall.

Neil Dexter and Ken Waide alternated singing the part of Miles in Benjamin Britten's opera The Turn of the Screw on tour with Opera Theatre Company in February 2004.

Neil Dexter was guest soloist in the Good Friday concert in St Patrick's Cathedral in 2004 in aid of the Carmichael Centre, singing Allegri's Miserere.

Sebastian O'Shea Farren was guest soloist with the National Chamber Choir in a recording of a new song in July 2004.

Neil Dexter sang the part of the Youth in Mendelssohn's Elijah with Dún Laoghaire Choral Society in the National Concert Hall in April 2005.

Neil Dexter sang Blake's The Snowman in the National Concert Hall for five performances at Christmas 2004 and again in 2005.
